Advertising Results -- Not So Good

I bought an ad last week before I got sick, and I just had a look to see how it went. So far, not so good. :(

I sent a targeted ad to about 150 people in Australia, Canada, the UK and the US. I also targeted those interested in ads for PTRs. So far, I've had 66 clicks and no signups.

I think the ad copy was pretty good. Lately I've been trying to write things that seem less like ads and more like short messages to my fellow members. Basically like I just sent out a quick email to say hey, and to tell them about some good PTRs I've found. Then I send them to the FreeCashSpace homepage where I've got a bit of info and a banner link to each PTR.

Maybe I need to change the webpage. I added the cartoon because I thought it might get people's attention, but even if it does, they may not be scrolling down to read about the different PTRs. The ad I bought is set up to run once a week for three weeks, so I think I'll try changing the landing page to see if it has any effect.

The good thing about PTRs is the advertising is usually pretty cheap. It should be, since incentivized advertising doesn't get great results. But since it is cheap, you can afford to play around and try to find out what works best. A lot of advertisers give up after just one ad. I prefer to make some changes and try again. And again. And maybe even again. But then that's it...because, you know...any more and it would just be silly. ;)
